Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
they shall prosper that love You.
Psalm 122:66

There is a great burden arising among many Christian leaders today. It has not gone unnoticed and its call is one of divine appointment. We must pray for Israel. Psalms tells us to do so. We also know that as we pray for peace to abide there, we are simultaneously welcoming the coming of Christ.

Some of you may be reading this and I can almost hear you audibly say, "He's already been here, Christ has already come!" Oh yes my dear friends, but He is coming again to sweep up his bride (the church) and take her away. This will all be done in the twinkling of an eye.

They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."

Having lived through four decades and more, I realize I have seen a lot in my lifetime. I have seen and heard the beckoned call of the street evangelist. I have witnessed the fiery pulpit of a passionate shepherd. I have seen the love of God in the gentle caring of a small child. I have heard a multitude of voices rise up in praise and adoration to the King on His throne. I have seen the outcast and lost restored and changed by the redeeming power of God. I have intimately experienced the healing power of the Great Physician. I have watched and prayed, laughed and wept, shouted and praised and fervently danced in worship to the Lord of Lords.

In these few things there has been a longing birthed within me to see Christ come in all of His glory. Let us not forget to pray for Jerusalem. God is faithful to do what He has promised and the time of His appearing is at hand. It is due time for the church to lay aside its apathy. In no other time has biblical prophecy been fulfilled with such rapidity as in these recent months. The signs of the times are everywhere declaring the arrival of the "midnight hour". Let us be watchful, praying and ready for we know not the day or hour of his appearing. But having hope, we do know that in that very moment the corruptible shall become incorruptible, for we shall be changed!
