Catholic Signs of the Times

Before you read this article I will tell you that I am Catholic. I am not the only Catholic upset by the Catholic Bishops moves to be politically correct on the subject of climate change. This in no way is the policy of Pope Benedict XVI. The decade of 2000-2009 was a decade of global cooling not global warming. The decade of the 1930’s was the warmest on record. The weather record was distorted when the scientists created an algorithm to compensate when we moved into the year 2000 and forgot to correct it, or so they say. Scientists at the IPCC (International Panel on Climate Change)the scientific arm of the United Nations are considered reputable by the Catholic Bishops in the United States. Of course the press has been ‘dumbed down’ and indoctrinated by them. Incidentally, one of the stated goals of the Frankfurt School is to ‘dumb’ down the press. This is not an isolated incident but a ‘sign of the times.’

“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19) But what if someone purposefully takes verses in the bible out of context to promote a lie? I think we could all agree they also would come under a similar judgment of God.

I have seen this first hand from a progressive Catholic class concerning global climate change. I took a course titled ‘God’s Creation Cries for Justice Climate Change: Impact and Response.’ On the front cover of the class book read, “If they keep silent,” Jesus says “the stones will cry out.” (Luke 19:40) The progressive instructors used this verse to push their environmental agenda by interpreting it to mean if you don’t take care of the environment there will be climatic consequences. What is ironic about this verse is on my computer on a job I had worked at my rolling screen saver said, “Do you really want the stones to cry out?” I knew exactly what this verse meant.

Remember that the former Communists state that the ends justify the means. The progressive are dupes of the Communists who are now known as cultural Marxists. What is important to them is the end result and they don’t care how much they need to lie to get there. At the opposite end of the spectrum are the true believers in the Catholic Church who do not do this and are totally repulsed by these progressives. You might ask what is wrong with their interpretation.

They took the Word of God totally out of context to promote their goal. In other words they feel the ends justify the means. They outright lied. They purposely took the verse out of contest of the original meaning.

Before I move on the study book was written by program assistant Kolya-Braun Grenier who isn’t Catholic and appears to be married to a preacher husband who endorsed the green bible. Now,let’s take a closer look at Luke 19:40. In the previous verse the Pharisees told Jesus to rebuke His disciples. In verse 38 the disciples joyfully shouted out, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord.” You can see the clear meaning is that the stones would cry out if the disciples were not allowed to pronounce Jesus Christ as the blessed king.

Of course, Pope John Paul II was aware that the Communists borrowed the term ‘social justice’ from the Catholic Church. Pope John Paul II stated that social justice must be accompanied by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Let me assure you that you will not find progressive Christians evangelizing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This was not the only verse used out of context. Also Matthew 16:3-4 states, “You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. Of course those teaching the class made this look as if the verse dealt with the climate. What this verse clearly means is that that the group back then and certainly the progressive Christians today have no idea that the signs of the times will be that the stones will shortly cry out.
