“The Bread and the yeast”
Blessings to you Dear Friend,
“The Bread and the yeast”
When I was meditating in my quiet time a few weeks ago about this message, it has brought so much different understanding about the bread and the yeast. I am sure we have all baked a bread before with either big success or with little. You can add yeast to it as well to rise your dough or you may use self rising flower which will do the trick instantly for you. But baking a bread without yeast is different. Taking less ingredients of course hence you need to be more careful not to over bake it since the bread will not rise. 9 out of 10 will choose to consume a bread which is baked with yeast and not without.
On the deeper thought, are we using and adding yeast to our faiths as well now days? Yeast, meaning, fame, self-recognition, self-boasting, self-importance etc...I have seen so many unleavened bread turning out to be yeast-full.
“When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread. 6 “Be careful,” Jesus said to them. “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
They discussed this among themselves and said, “It is because we didn’t bring any bread.”
Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, “You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” (Matthew 16 verses 5-12 NIV)
Sadly, there is a lot more yeast-full breads out there now, than before. And we need to take notice of it. The truth is that if we leave a bread being uncovered, it will turn dry. Both, the one with yeast and the other one without yeast. But the bread with yeast will turn to be off in taste as well.
Dear Friend, I am not a qualified baker but a bread consumer.
My choice is to continue and consume my daily bread, everyday.
Bread: The Bread of Life from the Life Giver.
Yeast: Bread can exist without it.
God Bless,
George.
