YOU KNEW


Thinking about my life and the course that it has taken-
Good choices that I've made and the times I was mistaken
Like when I let fear keep me down-
Going the wrong direction needing to turn around.
There were times I didn't know
Which way I was to go.

But God You knew. You always had a plan for me.
My life's in You. You're opening my eyes so I can see.
As I seek You the pages of my life unfold and now I know my destiny You hold.
But even when I didn't know, God You knew.

For so long I was secure in who I was and where I was headed.
Had a vision of what I wanted to do- took the risk and I just did it.
Then I entered a place of uncertainty.
My path was no longer clear to me.
Without even knowing why I became afraid.
The light in my life seemed to fade.
My goals started to seem so far away.
Just trying to make it through the day.
Didn't know what would happen to me.

But God You knew. You always had a plan for me.
My life's in You. You're opening my eyes so I can see.
As I seek You the pages of my life unfold and now I know my destiny You hold.
But even when I didn't know, God You knew.

And because You know, I'm putting my trust in You and not me.
I'll get to where I'm supposed to go by depending upon Your ability.
And when my path becomes unclear I'll keep pressing on- won't be bound by fear.
I'll remember who orders my footsteps. Its You who orders my footsteps.

You always had a plan for me.
