Prayers

I seek Your voice but cannot hear,
You’ve turned away is what I fear.
My prayers are like a silent gong,
I am sorry I got it wrong.

Take my life of emptiness,
For all my sins I now confess.
I’ve fallen short, a pain to You,
Can You see what I’m going through?

Nothing seems to be real good
And turn out like I thought it would.
Where I thought I was being kind,
It was a figment of my mind.

Take me home, the pain is great,
The veil of death is what I wait.
I cannot choose which way to go,
There’s nothingness in what I know.

In the pit of hell I stand,
A sinful and defeated man.
Oh where is Your tenderness?
That peace of mind is what I miss.

I don’t know which way to go,
I’m being tossed both to and fro.
I give up, they beat me down,
With tears of shame and with a frown.

Take this evil out of me,
From this torture set me free.
Please show me which way to go,
Speak to me, just let me know.

You finger points and things are great,
But You make me wait and wait.
I listen hard to hear Your voice,
I'm asking You to make my choice.

I just want You to lead me,
Father God, please hear my plea.
Without You I am so alone,
Confused, and lost, without a home.
