How often do we seek our Lord's presence? Everyday, every other day, twice a week or once a week (during Sunday service, that is? When I talk of seeking God's presence, I'm not talking of daily devotion since we sometimes tend to rush through it making it ineffective. I'm talking of having a special time of communion with God- when for that period of time, nothing else matters but God. As Christians, we should spend such a time with our Savior and ever present unconditional Friend so He can renew our spirits. Personally, I've realized that when I don't have that intimate encounter with God for some time, I feel dry in my spirit. If you'd be true to yourself, you'd testify to this fact too. Sometimes, you start harboring impure thoughts, your speech becomes unpleasant and your mood irritable. As we find it necessary to wash our bodies everyday, so must we see it as a necessity to cleanse our spirits everyday. We need to keep it strengthened for God every moment of our lives because the more strengthened we are in the spirit, the more we manifest Him in us and vice versa. Some people commune with God by praying but I usually seek His presence through worship and praises. I normally listen to powerful songs and sing along to my God with my whole heart. I sing till my whole being is focused on Him. During such times, I don't make any requests, I just worship Him for who He is and thank Him for His countless blessings. I just worship till I get overwhelmed in my soul with His majesty and goodness. I don't know you do it or would want to do it, my dear Christian because we need to keep our spirits strong and alert now more than ever. Stay blessed.
