My people, learn to discern between My voice and the voice of the enemy. Many of you struggle often with feelings of failure, frustration and guilt over what happened in the past. Things you can’t forget, things you failed to do or didn’t do right. Satan loves to throw up your inadequacies and past sins in your face. He nags you constantly, trying to wear you down and make you feel like worthless garbage. But when was the last time satan said something good about you?

In the Book of Revelation I had both criticism and praise for the seven churches. Two churches, Smyrna and Philadelphia, received no criticism, only praise and encouragement, for they were faithful to Me in difficult times and did not compromise with the truth. One church, Laodicea, was the ONLY church of the seven to have nothing good said about it, only rebuke. The other four churches, Sardis, Ephesus, Pergamos and Thyatira received both rebuke and whatever praise I could honestly give them.

This should tell you something, My people. In the vast majority of cases, while I may rebuke you or someone else, there will also be at least a few good things I can commend about your life. And even when I must rebuke you it is done with the ultimate goal of encouraging you to wake up out of your stupor and mature in the things of God so you can be an overcomer and sit with Me in My Father’s Throne.

The devil NEVER has a kind word or an uplifting word, or even constructive criticism to say about you, only DESTRUCTIVE CONDEMNING, death-dealing thoughts to cut you down and weaken you spiritually. The enemy’s voice is sharp, nagging and hurtful, like the whip of a slave overseer. Many have fallen prey to the false teaching that if you don’t beat on your body enough or suffer or sacrifice enough that I’ll whip you for it or send you to hell. Many have fasted themselves to severe illness or even death because satan made them feel guilty about taking delight in anything in this world. Others ruined their health with overwork, lack of sleep, rough living and other harsh treatment of the body to “suffer for Jesus”. When they tried to lighten up on themselves or even break free of the bondage, they’d hear a pounding voice of accusation in their souls or feel a creeping fear that I was about to kill them and send them to hell. Satan is the cruelest of oppressors. He paints an ugly, frightening picture of a terrible judgment that does NOT apply to My children.

You are one spirit with My dear son (I Cor.6:17). You are heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Him (Rom.8:17). By faith you are seated together with Christ in Heavenly Places (Eph.2:6). You are accepted in the Beloved (Eph.1:6). You are already counted as COMPLETE in Him (Col.2:10). You have ALREADY been blessed with every blessing I could potentially manifest in your life, all blessings which pertain to life and godliness (2 Pet.1:3). So why do you feel the need to afflict your body with fasting, suffering, self-criticism, overwork, and all the stress of struggling to keep manmade rules for proving that you “measure up” as a disciple? What more could you earn by your own efforts than what Christ has already done FOR YOU, ON YOUR BEHALF, to merit the blessings I am so eager to pour out on you?

So next time you hear satan carping about how terrible you are, and how you ought to be ashamed for being a fallen human being rotten to the core, and wasn’t it terrible what you did or didn’t do years ago, and should have done better, cry out unto Me for deliverance. Such nagging accusations are from the enemy, not from the God Who justifies those who believe in Christ, Who with His own Righteousness, hath made YOU righteous in Him (Isa.61:10)

Paul the apostle didn’t even desire to stand on whatever righteousness he could drum up in his own life (Phil.3:9). He wanted only the righteousness of Christ. Next time satan accuses you of not producing enough righteousness, say “Good! I’m standing on the Rock Christ Jesus’ righteousness, and in Him alone I live, and move, and have my being.” (Acts 17:28).
