The Rock of ages is the hiding place where I go
How the Cleft opens and receives me I do not know
But if I can share just a glimpse of His care
I would tell you for a surety that He is always there

The Cleft that holds me during times of grief
And gives unexplainable comfort and sweet peace
His healing is steady and calming like a balm
As I quietly climb inside His loving palm

May I take you to this wonderful place
Will you look fully in His marvelous face?
When your world falls completely apart
Take His hand and give Him your whole heart

He is alive and anxiously waiting to receive you
In Him you’ll find everything brand new
Don’t hold back or wait until tomorrow
Give Him your all especially your sorrow

A light will appear in the darkness all around
As you read all His promises that can be found
Inside the book of power, and endless delight
Where is found direction in the darkest night
