Encouragement
“God `s hand is stretched out still!”
By
Calvin J. Moss
Isaiah 12 says: The Syrians before and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. Verse 17 includes: Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. Verse 21 mentions: Manasseh, Ephraim and Ephraim and Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. Verse 4 states: Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
God`s hand is stretched out still. There was a time when us Christians were in the world. We lived recklessly without any hope. We were thugging and bugging. A foul child, running wild. We were involved in things that would make us embarrassed to talk about. People in addition to our relatives would tell us about Jesus but we did not pay attention. Some of them were just as foul as we were but they were telling us about Jesus! We dogged God to the fullest without any remorse or regret. We were pagans and heathens thinking we were all that, bound for hell, but his hand was stretched out still. We got high from sun up to sun down but his hand was stretched out still. We got drunk with a hang over and said Lord help me I will not do it again and did it anyway but his hand was stretched out still. Some of us got locked up and said I am not coming back in here no more and went right back, but his hand was stretched out still. We lied, stole and cheated but his hand was stretched out still. We shot, stabbed and fought people but his hand was stretched out still. We slept with our girlfriend but went looking for another friend but his hand was stretched out still.
The children of Israel disobeyed God and worshipped golden images again and again but his hand was stretched out still. When they complained about being thirsty, wanted food of their choice, and tempted Christ, he got angry but his hand was stretched out still. When we sin even though we are in Christ, his hand is stretched out still. America continues to drown in judgment but God `s hand is stretched out still. His hand is stretched out still. Amen.
