In the first part of Human faith vs. Spiritual faith we saw that Human faith operates out of the sense type of knowledge. Humans first want to see, feel, hear, smell or taste before they would believe. Humans tend to follow the sense type of faith like Thomas, one of the twelve disciples, did when he was told by two other disciples that they had seen Christ alive after He was crucified.

“But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe” John 20:24-25

Thomas knew not how to believe within the spiritual realm. He would not believe unless he has seen or felt.

We al have a choice of how we believe according to the Word of the Lord. This is what makes the love of God so unique and different from any other human kind of love and His faith so much different than any human faith that is based on sense knowledge.

In the beginning of the very first day that God created earth, he called light:

“Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” Genesis 1:3-5

However, only on the fourth day did God create the source of the light! Ain’t that something absolutely amazing? God called for let there be light on the first day and there was light, and only on the fourth day did He create the source for it!

“Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years. Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth.” And that is what happened. God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set these lights in the sky to light the earth, to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And evening passed and morning came, marking the fourth day.” Genesis 1:14-19

God acted in Spiritual faith. He called things to be before they actually were. That is the kind of faith that we need to live by…

“(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” Romans 4:17

We have a choice to live by faith, and we also have a choice to live by unbelief. The centurion chose to live by faith and Jesus healed his servant…because he believed.

“The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.” Matthew 8:8

“I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. 8I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” Luke 7:7-8

Furthermore, God promises blessings over those that believe without operating out of the sense type of knowledge…

“Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed. John 20:29

I challenge you all today to choose to start living by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8) and God will keep His promises if we trust in Him.
