My Burden is Light

In Matthew 11:29, 30 Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” He said in John 15:9, “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you; continue ye in my love.” This is the burden that Jesus intends for us to bear, the Father’s love.

Here are seven expressions of love that the heavenly Father wants to share with all of his family:

POWER- Jesus said in Matthew 28:18, “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Acts 1:8, “…ye shall receive power, after the Holy Ghost has come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me…”

RICHES- In John 16:15 Jesus said, “All things that the Father hath are mine…” Colossians 2:2,”That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding…”

WISDOM- Luke 2:40 says of Jesus, “And the child grew and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was with him.” Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…”

STRENGTH- In Matthew 17:18-21, Jesus cast a devil out of a child that his disciples could not cast out. Prayer and fasting gave him the strength. Through faith, prayer, and fasting, we have strength because greater is he that is within us than he that is the world (I John 4:4).

HONOR- The heavenly Father honored his Son. Matthew 3:17,”And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. In John 12:26 Jesus said, “…if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.”

GLORY- In John 17:24 Jesus prayed, “Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me; for thou lovest me before the foundation of the world.” Ephesians 2:6 says that we are raised up together and sit in heavenly places with Christ Jesus.

BLESSING- Jesus was blessed with God’s anointing. Luke 4:18,”The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me…” Ephesians 1:3,”Blessid be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

Revelation 5:12,”…Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive POWER, and RICHES, and WISDOM, and STRENGTH, and HONOR, and GLORY, and BLESSING.”
