Though it rains outside
In my spirits eye
I see a picture painted blue
Blue like the Mediteranean Sea
Blue like a freshly baked 90 degree sky
Blue like the sad songs B.B sings
But not 4 me
4 U see, God’s spirit sets me free

Suddenly instead of singing
Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Face
I feel like rejoicing about some Amazing Grace
How sweet the sound of the falling drops
Their cadence taking me to another place and time
When ancestors kingly and divine
Drank wine in celebration of most glorious signs

As I soak up another drop that sends my skin tingling
After washing away another smear of grime
That blemishes my spirit with the weight of the times
Good times are the only times I have time 4
4 with my God even my bad times shine like communion wine
