Where Are You
Why Are You Hiding
God is asking the question this morning, Where Are You, Why Are You Hiding? Can we be found of God in our walk? Can we be found praying? Then why are the whole world on their way to Hell? The Christian has been saved with a purpose to win the lost for Christ. But where are we and why are so many dying right around us without Christ. Jesus said if I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me. Somewhere, somehow Jesus is not being lifted up among men.
Are we like Adam the first man hiding from God, ashamed of what we are doing? Or have done? Genesis 3:8-10, and they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day; and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the Garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam and said unto him, Where art thou. And he said I heard thy voice in the garden and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I his myself.
Why did Adam hide? Why did he want to get out of God's sight? Adam did not know that he couldn't hide from the one that created him. Why did he think he needed shelter from God? what was he trying to conceal? He thought he had a secret that he could hide from God. The bush could not cover him for God made the bush and the bush was going to obey the master and bring him to the open by opening just enough for God to get a peep. Adam hid because he was ashamed and had neglected to keep himself free of the very thing God had told him not to partake of. He realized that he had been stripped of his innocency. Adam wanted to evade responsiblity for his disobedience. He tried to withdraw himself from God's sight through intentional deception. Where are we that we think we can hide from God? God is steady asking us Where are we, why are we hiding?
Why do we fail to do what we have been called to do. We are without excuse. Adam blamed the woman that God gave him and the woman blamed the serpent when God asked them what was it that they had did. Where are you in your walk with God today? Why do we do the things we do and try to hide when God knows all things? It is a fool that is destitute of understanding, reason, or moral sense. Fools deny God and make a mock at sin. They also despise instruction and is shame when they are found out. There soul is snared by what they do and speak. Adam speaking to God said the first thing that came to his mind, the excuse. God is saying where are you, why are you hiding? So many words you speak but not knowing what you are saying or what may be. Adam answered God according to his folly, being wise in his own conceit that brought him to his own destruction within his family.
God is saying to us today, Where are you, why are you hiding? What keeps us out of God's presence? What keeps the Word from penetrating through that block we have set up? What keeps the Spirit from dwelling in our hearts richly? It's time we stop fumbling with God's Word we handle and His Spirit we play with. The gifts and callings is without repentance. We can go in the church and fool others but we are not fooling God. God mirrors our unforgiveness, he knows when we have stumbled over sin that we are aware of and unaware of. Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. If we give no mercy then we won't receive any either.
We the people of God is so unmerciful like we have arrived and become stiffnecked, not resisting evil. We can't praise God and get results. Adam and Eve had to face God, they had to come from behind the bushes. After they faced the truth of what they had done, God provided for them although they were cast out of the Garden. All things that have been hidden will come out. Whatever happens in life we must maintain our integrity, become that able man that will fear God. Hold fast to the truth and be truthful. We must allow God to try us in an even balance because it keeps us judged within our own selves, cause us to incline our ears to hear what thus said the Lord and do it, and wisdom will help us to apply our heart to understanding and find the knowledge of God and not man. We shall also have favor of God and man.
Where are you, why are you hiding? Holiness is a lifestyle that shows forth the love of God but does not give man the authority to say who should hide and who should die. The righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Be found of God when He comes knocking on your door. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Godliness with contentment is great gain. We want to be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. The end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned. God did not make a hasty decision but he listened to fallen man he reasoned with them. They lost their spiritual home but God gave them another. He did not throw them out without proper accomodations or explaining to them what they had done. God does not play funny stuff, he is real. He is Truth.
