As a teenager, I used to worry about everything. My doctor said I was at risk of ulcers if I didn’t learn to cope better with my stress. He said I should stop reading the newspaper and watching the news because they were too depressing.

Recently, a friend of mine said I should become as driftwood. Instead of being dragged, kicking and screaming, through life; I could be as driftwood, living life on life’s terms. I could go with the ebb and flow of my daily life. This appealed to me on a very spiritual level. It all came down to trust … trust in God. I had to learn to turn my life and my will over to the power of the Lord.

Prayer

Dear Lord, help me to grow in trust. I long for You to take the lead in my life. For this I pray, in Jesus name. Amen.
