My body shakes when I cry
from pain that's gathered up inside.
It's trapped - the pain
I know this well
To find some peace within this hell-

Impossible.

I can't succeed.
The battle's on
-the fight's for me.

Indeed, I felt my life be drained
Consuming me like raging flames;
Ignited by the spark of hurt
Now engulfed-
I shout these words.

"Lord, I ask you, why such pain?
I need you, Lord, to bring the rain.
I'm not equipped to fight this one.
I need you, Lord, restore the sun."

And just before I'd surely burn
The Lord leaned down and this I heard.

"Your suffering brings more than grief.
Each time it draws you close to Me.
I've watched you and I know your pain."

And with that, He put out the flame.
