Warm, brown and inviting
Daring you to bare your soul
Seeking deep within you
All that you would withhold
Knowing the truth or lies
The hidden things deep within
Assessing and judging rightly
Will you be enemy or friend?
Eyes that see so deeply
Eyes that would touch and hold
Eyes that can touch with kindness
Eyes that also can be cold
You are warned not to gaze too deeply
You are warned your secrets will be told
But truth is what you are seeking
Honesty is what makes you bold
Kindness is your hearts’ desire
Someone to care is what you need
And gazing into the eyes of the lion
You discover you are finally free
Looking in the eyes of the lion
You find compassion and more
Looking in the eyes of the lion
You find peace for your troubled soul
In the eyes of the lion
You find warmth and safety
In the eyes of the lion
You know he treasures each heart beat
Gaze in the eyes of the lion
Only if you dare
He will see right through you
He will lay your soul bare
If you are seeking truth
Truth you will be told
Yet if you are filled with lies
Then his eyes will be so cold.
