Synopsis
The story begins with the rape of Jo's sister Dinah. Jud, Jo's brother displays his violent character, determined to take revenge for this vile act.
Jo and his brothers are property developers but Jo is Dad's favourite and gets special treatment.
On a business trip to Egypt Jo's brothers decide to teach Jo a lesson and have him kidnapped.
The kidnappers fake Jo's death and his brothers return to Israel thinking their brother is dead.
Things go from bad to worse for Jo who is sent to prison by a corrupt Judge under pressure from the gang leader.
God delivers Jo from prison. He interprets a dream for the Head of the national bank. God reveals that a massive world recession is coming. Jo is put in charge of a plan to stockpile funds to help Egypt through the recession.
As the recession worsens people from every corner of the globe come to Jo for funds including his brothers who do not recognise him.
Jo sees his chance for revenge but can't go through with it.
In the final touching scene Jo is reunited with his father who receives him as though risen from the dead.

series I decided to do a Bible retold story. This is my take
on how the Story of Joseph from the Bible would look if it
happened today.
1 INT - NIGHT. - AT A PARTY IN CENTRAL TEL AVIV 1
Dinah is at a party of a work colleague and is chatting to
her colleague's brother.
ZEB
I'm glad to finally meet you. Lisa
has told me all about you.
DINAH
Only good things I hope.
ZEB
Definitely good things. I was
wondering, would you like to have
dinner with me sometime?
DINAH
Maybe!
ZEB
Maybe, maybe is good, maybe
promises progress, someday it
might even turn into a Yes.
DINAH
(Smiling)
Can you watch my drink for a
minute? I just need to go to the
ladies room.
ZEB
Sure. Hurry back.
As soon as Dinah is out of sight, Zeb slips two tablets into
her drink. When she returns they continue their
conversation.
2.
ZEB (CONT'D)
So, does dinner tempt you?
Dinah takes a sip from her drink.
DINAH
You don't give up do you, OK why
not. Give me a call this week and
we'll arrange it.
Dinah finishes off her drink.
ZEB
Can I have your number?
DINAH
Sure.
Dinah rummages in her bag for her phone.
DINAH (CONT'D)
Is it hot in here or is it just
me? I feel like I'm burning up.
Dinah almost faints and Zeb just manages to catch her fall.
ZEB
Are you OK?
DINAH
(Mumbling)
I don't know, all of a sudden I
don't feel well, I think I need to
lie down.
ZEB
Hold onto me, I'll help you to my
sister's room, you can lie down in
there for a little while until you
feel better.
Zeb helps Dinah to his sisters room where he lies her on the
bed. He goes back to the door to check if anyone is in the
hall. When he sees that the coast is clear he goes back into
the room shutting the door behind him.
CUT TO:THE NEXT MORNING STILL IN THE SAME APARTMENT.
Dinah wakes up in a strange bed. Her head is throbbing. She
struggles to get dressed and stumbles out as best she can to
the kitchen where she sees her work colleague Lisa.
3.
LISA
Hello sleepy head. Looks like
someone had a bit too much to
drink last night huh!
DINAH
To be honest I don't remember. The
last thing I recall is talking to
your brother Zeb and the next
thing I know I'm waking up in your
bed.
LISA
I did wonder where you'd got to
but then when I came to bed I
found you fast asleep so I figured
I would just sleep on the sofa. Do
you want some breakfast?
DINAH
No, thanks all the same, I think
I'm just going to walk to Jud's
place, he's only a couple of
blocks away. I'll see you on
Monday at work.
LISA
Are you sure you're OK?
DINAH
My head feels like it's going to
explode but I'll be fine.
LISA
Al right then if you're sure.
DINAH
Bye Lisa.
LISA
See you Monday.
Dinah walks down the stairs and out into the street, she
walks the short distance to her brother's apartment.
2 INT - DAY. - JUDS APARTMENT 2
Jud is having his breakfast and reading his newspaper when
the door bell rings. He presses the button to the telecom.
JUD
Who is it?
4.
DINAH
Jud it's me Dinah, can I come up?
JUD
Sure, come on up.
Jud presses the release button to open the door for his
sister. Soon after Dinah appears.
JUD (CONT'D)
Hey there, how was the party?
Dinah follows Jud through to the kitchen-diner.
DINAH
I don't know!
JUD
What do you mean? Didn't you go to
Lisa's party last night?
DINAH
Yes I did, I was really enjoying
myself, I got chatting to Lisa's
brother and then I don't know what
happened, it's all a blank after
that. I woke up this morning in
Lisa's bed with a killer of a
headache.
JUD
Dinah, did you leave your drink at
any time during the party.
DINAH
I remember going to the ladies
room. I asked Zeb if he would keep
an eye on my drink for me.
JUD
Who's Zeb?
DINAH
Lisa's brother.
JUD
Come on.
Jud get up and grabs his coat from the closet.
DINAH
Where are we going?
5.
JUD
To the police station.
DINAH
What for?
JUD
Dinah I think someone put
something in your drink.
DINAH
(Shock in her
voice)
Do you think Zeb......Oh my
God...he wouldn't would he.
Jud takes Dinah in his arms.
JUD
We've no time to lose, we need to
get you checked out ASAP.
CUT TO:A COURTROOM, ZEB IS IN THE DOCK, THE JURY ARE ABOUT
TO ANNOUNCE THEIR VERDICT.
JUROR
We find the defendant not guilty.
Dinah breaks down in a flood of tears. Jud jumps to his feet
and makes for the front of the courtroom where Zeb is
seated.
JUD
(Gesturing
towards Zeb)
You won't get away with this, I
promise you, you'll pay for what
you did.
Zeb turns and smiles at Jud. Simon, Dan & Jo restrain Jud as
they can see that he is on the verge of doing something
stupid.
DAN
Come on Jud, let's go home, there
is nothing more we can do, come
on.
Jud turns to look at his brothers and his father almost
foaming at the mouth.
JUD
I won't let him get away with it.
6.
SIMON
Come on Jud, it's over, let's go
home.
Jud walks over to comfort his sister.
JUD
(Puts his hands
gently on
Dinah's face)
He won't get away with this Dinah,
I promise you, I won't let him.
DINAH
(Tears
streaming down
her face)
Take me home please Jud.
Jud takes Dinah in his arms.
JUD
OK Dinah, come on, I'll take you
home.
They all leave the courtroom and go home.
CUT TO:JUD BACK IN HIS APARTMENT ON THE PHONE
Jud is on the phone to an old friend.
JUD (CONT'D)
Hi, Jezza, it's Jud. A little
birdie tells me you've fallen on
hard times. I think we could help
each other. I need you to do me a
big favour. Do you still work at
the crematorium.
CUT TO:A CREMATORIUM JUST ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF TEL AVIV.
Jud, Simon and Dan are at the Crematorium. They are stood
over a coffin whose lid is open. Inside is Zeb bound and
gagged but conscious.
JUD (CONT'D)
(Bent over the
coffin and face
right up close
to Zeb's)
Scum like you don't deserve to
live. Did you think you could just
rape my sister and get away with
it. I'm going to enjoy watching
you burn. OK Jezza.
7.
Jud shuts the coffin and signals to Jezza to put Zeb in the
furnace. Once the coffin is in he proceeds to turn the
furnace on. The three brothers watch on showing no emotion
and no mercy.
3 EXT - DAY. A BUILDING SITE IN TEL AVIV - ONE YEAR LATER 3
Jake and his sons are being given a tour of the site of a
new property development they are undertaking of luxury
flats.
JAKE
Work is on schedule and on budget
right Peter?
PETER
So far yes.
JAKE
Let's hope it stays that way, keep
up the good work. I'll see you
next week for the project meeting.
PETER
OK bye.
JUD
We're gonna head back to the
office, everything is looking
good, it's very exciting!
JAKE
OK see you back at the office. Jo
will you come and see me in my
office this afternoon.
JO
Sure, what time?
JAKE
Let's say about three o'clock.
JO
No problem.
4 - DAY. INT. JAKE & SONS OFFICES - EVENING 4
Jo knocks on his Dads office door.
JAKE
Come in. Listen, I know it's not
your birthday for another week but
I can't wait to give you your
gift. Wait here a second, I'll
just go and get it.
8.
Jake disappears into his cloakroom.
JO
(Raising his
voice so his
Dad can hear
him)
I can wait you know, In fact I
think I'd rather you gave it to me
next week!
JAKE
Here it is.
Jake produces the most beautiful leather jacket you have
ever seen comprising six different colours.
JAKE (CONT'D)
It's the best Italian leather you
can find. Here try it on, I want
to see if it fits.
Jake hands the jacket to his son. Jo puts it on
JO
Oh my God. It's amazing. I can't
accept this, my brothers will rage
with jealousy.
JAKE
Don't be silly. Anyway they're too
fat to fit into something like
this. You let me worry about them.
It would make me very happy to see
you wearing it.
JO
OK I'll wear it. You know you
really shouldn't have, it must
have cost you an arm and a leg. It
does look good on me though.
JO (CONT'D)
Dad. I need to talk to you about
something.
JAKE
Yeah sure, what's up?
JO
I think Jud Dan and Simon are up
to their old tricks again. I
overheard them talking, I didn't
catch it all but it sounded dodgy.
I think you should look into it.
9.
JAKE
OK son, I'll speak to them. That
jacket really does look great on
you son.
JO
If feels fantastic.
JAKE
Why don't we get together for a
drink after work?
JO
Yeah sure that would be great.
JAKE
Alright then. Get back to work
now, I'll see you later. Jo, wear
your jacket tonight.
JO
OK, see you later.
Jo leaves his Dads office holding his new Jacket. His
brothers look over and see his leather jacket.
CUT TO:
5 INT. JAKE & SONS OFFICES - NEXT DAY 5
Jake calls Jud, Simon and Dan into his office for a
discussion.
JAKE
Do you know why I have called you
in here today?
JUD
No Sir.
JAKE
It seems someone thinks that you
might be up to no good.
The three brothers look at each other to ascertain which of
them will respond.
JUD
I don't know what you mean.
Everything is above board as it
always is.
10.
DAN
Yeah come on Dad, you know us, we
wouldn't get involved in anything
illegal.
SIMON
Who have you been talking to? Is
it Jo, has he been snitching on us
again?
JAKE
(Gives them a
very stern
look)
Never you mind who I've been
talking to. You just make sure you
conduct your business in the
proper way. I can't afford any
trouble, it's hard enough as it is
keeping this company afloat
without you three making it
harder, do you understand, do you
understand?
Jud, Simon & Dan all reply together
DAN, JUD & SIMON
Yes Sir.
JAKE
That's all, go back to work.
Just as they are leaving the office Jo walks in sporting his
new leather jacket.
JUD
Nice jacket snitch!
JO
(With sarcasm)
Have a good meeting?
DAN
Listen Jo, we're doing all we can
to make this company a success,
you might not like our methods but
they get results. This company has
never been so profitable.
JO
It's not the results that worry
me, it's the methods!
11.
SIMON
You just take care of your
contracts and we'll take care of
ours. Try minding your own
business for a change.
Just then Benjy comes into the office and goes straight to
Jo.
JO
Hey there tiger, how's it going?
BENJY
OK I suppose, I'm just a bit fed
up with school, too much homework.
JO
If you like I'll come over tonight
and give you a hand.
BENJY
That would be great.
JO
I'll bring over some Ben & Jerrys
and when you've finished your
homework we'll do some serious
racing on the playstation.
BENJY
Cool! Can I sit with you for a
while.
JO
Yeah sure take a seat.
FADE TO:JAKES HOUSE WHERE JO IS PLAYING ON THE PLAYSTAION
WITH BENJY
JO (CONT'D)
Alright that's enough humiliation
for today, I think I need to
practice before I race against you
again Benjy.
BENJY
Come on Jo, one more game.
JO
Sorry Benjy but I need to get home
and catch up on some beauty sleep.
Jo gets up to leave and retrieves his coat from the
cupboard.
12.
BENJY
Thanks for coming round Jo, I
don't know how I would have
finished my homework without your
help.
JO
Any time Benjy. I'll see you again
soon,alright tiger.
Jo and Benjy hug each other.
JO (CONT'D)
(raising his
voice to make
himself heard)
Bye Dad.
Jake appears from his study.
JAKE
Are you off?
JO
Yeah, I'm really tired. I'll see
you tomorrow.
JAKE
OK son. Thanks for giving Benjy a
hand, it was a big help.
Jo opens the door, walks to his car and drives away. Jake
and Benjy wave as he leaves.
CUT TO:JO ASLEEP IN BED
JO IS HAVING A DREAM.JO AND HIS BROTHERS ARE INVESTING IN
DIFFERENT PROPERTIES. THE PROPERTIES JO INVESTS IN START
GROWING AND BECOME HUGE SKYSCRAPERS SO THAT THEY DOMINATE
THE LANDSCAPE. HIS BROTHERS PROPERTIES ARE SMALL IN
COMPARISON AND THEY GATHER AT THE FOOT OF HIS SKYSCRAPERS.
HIS BROTHERS PROPERTIES START TO CRUMBLE UNTIL ONLY JO'S
SKYSCRAPERS ARE LEFT STANDING.THE NEXT MORNING HE REPORTS
THE DREAM TO HIS BROTHERS.
6 INT. JAKE & SONS OFFICES - THE NEXT DAY 6
JO
Guys I had a weird dream last
night.
Jo's brothers all look over at him and then look at each
other as if to say do we really want to know!
13.
JUD
Come on then lets have it, what
was your dream about.
JO
We were investing in different
properties. The properties I
invested in started growing and
became huge skyscrapers so that
they dominated the landscape. Your
properties were small in
comparison and they gathered at
the foot of my skyscrapers. Your
properties started to crumble
until only my skyscrapers were
left standing.
Simon jumps up out of his seat, marches over to Jo and grabs
him by his tie in a very aggressive manner.
SIMON
(almost foaming
at the mouth
with rage)
Who the hell do you think you are.
Just because you're Dad's little
favourite you think you can rule
over us do you. Well I think
you're getting a bit big for you
boots, just watch out cause you're
starting to really tick me off.
Jake walks in while Simon is having his rant at Jo.
JAKE
What's going on?
DAN
(With a large
dose of
indignation)
Jo was just telling us about a
dream he had last night and how
one day we would all bow down
before him.
JAKE
Is this true Jo?
JO
It was just a dream Dad. Don't
read too much into it. It's not my
fault that this idiot over
reacted.
14.
JAKE
Well I suggest you keep your
dreams to yourself in future. Now
come on you two, shake hands and
get back to work, we haven't time
for these distractions.
Jo and Simon begrudgingly shake hands. Jake returns to his
office to sit and mull over the meaning of these things.
