Holy Spirit, Thou art God,
Friend and Comforter and Lord;
Sent by the Father above
To the saints below with love.

Holy Spirit, Sanctifier,
Purge my soul as gold on fire;
Make me strong my Cross to bear
Make me bold the Truth to share.

Holy Spirit, Teacher mild,
God's anointing in His child;
Teach me all that I may know
Lead me in the way to go.

Holy Spirit, Help divine,
I am weak but strength is Thine;
With deep sighs that words can't say
May Thou guidest me to pray.

Holy Spirit, ever near,
Guard, defend and always cheer;
May I learn to lean on Thee
Faithful, true Thou art to me.

Holy Spirit, my desire,
Burn within me Thy fire;
As I walk and serve with Thee
Whilst Thou doth preserveth me.
