"The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit." (Proverbs 15:05)

Proverbs reveals that the tongue has great power. There is a general theme in Proverbs that your life is essentially shaped by the words you speak, by the power of your tongue. This is a fact that we do not respect nearly enough. Words can inspire, words can wound. Our bodies heal more quickly than our minds. A scratch heals, a hurtful word scars. You can choose to speak words that heal, or words that hurt, so you need to carefully consider every word you say. There is a Scripture that says that we will have to give account for every word that we have said. The Lord knows every word is important, and we need to recognize that too. Make sure that your words bring life and blessing to the people who are on the receiving end of your comments. You will bless others, and you too will be blessed. ([email protected])
