"A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth." (Proverbs 11:16)
Once in a while I am invited to dine at one of the old established clubs located on top of one of the tallest buildings downtown. The walls are covered in rich woods, the waiters are attentive and the food is expensive. All seems fine, except there is something wrong here. Rich old men are shuffling to another meeting. Men who have more money than they will ever spend are grasping for a little more. Having a life that amounts to "only wealth" is a sad thing. The old country song says "… it is so hard to find, one rich man in ten, with a satisfied mind." Showing kindness to your fellow man will gain you more than the ruthless pursuit of wealth. Remember your bank balance isn't going to be on your tombstone. The Lord isn't impressed!
