Revelations come to light like a bolt of lightning at times. There is a flash in our minds and we realize a certain truth.
Once, I stood in front of a life size image of the Divine Mercy in the church and placed my hand at the heart of Jesus. At that precise moment, I could feel my pulse beating at the tip of my fingers. It seemed to me as if the heart of Jesus was beating. This revelation made me think of how our hearts are entwined with the Lord’s own heart.
The transfiguration of our Lord on Mount Tabor is a very significant event. It was here that Jesus revealed his glory to his apostles and they saw his true self. This dazzling revelation left Peter, John & James spell bound.
In our own lives, God is constantly revealing certain facts to us.
We have to be alert and pay attention to what he is saying. We have to keep our eyes, minds and hearts open.
God gave never gave me the answers that I kept on seeking. But, he gave me His answers and these were wiser and more awesome than the ones I wanted to know.
It took me a while to understand this but when I grasped certain revelations that God wanted me to be aware of and which I would never have dreamt of otherwise, these were transformations that changed my life. I knew I would never be the same again.
Just as on Mount Tabor, Jesus’ face shone brightly as the sun, we have to seek the Face of the Lord at all times. When we turn our face towards him, we will always be radiant and smiling. His light will shine upon us and chase the darkest shadows away.
God wants each and every one of us to be transfigured as his son Jesus. He wants to reveal to us the glories that he has kept reserved for us in his heavenly Kingdom. While on earth, we have to achieve the same dazzling perfection. For this, it is first necessary to travel the Way of the Cross as Jesus did before he could attain his glory. In total obedience to the will of God.
We have to always listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit within us. Sometimes, the Spirit of God prompts us to do things which we would deem unrealistic but God’s ways are not our ways. He will lead and we have to just follow in his footsteps.
Our eyes always see what our hearts want to see. This is good enough because the heart can think better than the mind. The mind is always practical telling us what is right and wrong.
But the heart only sees the emotions and feelings; it overlooks all imperfections and sees only the best in others. This is the way God wants us to love others. To use our hearts more than our minds.
There are have been times in my life when my own spirit was crushed but the Holy Spirit always helped me to rise again. It gently prodded me on and gave me the strength to stand firm even amidst the storms. God kept on revealing messages to me via various sources and when this way of communication finally dawned on me, my joy knew no bounds.
His revelation helped me to feel the love being sent my way. A fact, I would have missed knowing had it not been for his powerful intervention.
The transfiguration is a beautiful event to learn from, a revelation that we have to change ourselves in order to accomplish heavenly perfection.
