We are all born with the ability to create. Not necessarily to produce great works of art, or to write powerful musical works, but just to live with a purpose, to show that there is that natural, creative spirit within us. Of course life can sometimes be harsh, and we find ourselves lacking in spirit, but beware because pessimism is a virulent germ that can sap our energies and eat away at our good intentions.

Surely, nothing could be worse than spending our time bitterly regretting that we never achieved anything of any substance. The problem is that there is so much going on around us trying to grab our attention that it does take a great deal of will power to just ignore all the noise and the demands and create something that is uniquely ours.

Hey, they cry, just buy our latest all singing, all dancing gizmo and you won’t have to do a thing. Just switch on, press a couple of buttons and your mind will be happily occupied for hours just fiddling around with some time-wasting electronic game!

To do well and express our creative powers lies within the reach of each and every one of us, to make the best of what we have, and to develop that essential of a creative mind. But it is not sufficient to merely think about what we should do, for the day is there, inviting us to live it to its fullest.

The world is full of people who have big ideas but are short on the initiative and the courage to get out there and just do it. Also, too many people waste their valuable time trying to emulate the characters on film and television, in the belief that what they are watching is all true.

If we wish to be happy, to really live life with a purpose then we must learn to cultivating the art of creativity, and in turn sharing the rewards with those around us. True fulfilment comes when we are in a position to help others and pass our happiness and joy on to them.

Creativity is far more than an intellectual appreciation. It is in the eye of the artist. It is at the very heart of the reformer. It is the dream of the scientist. It is the inspiration and the guiding star of all those who have the burning desire to see the world a happier and more vibrant place.
