"Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?" (Proverbs 20:6)

I wonder if the Apostle Peter remembered this verse at the crucifixion? He said he would never leave the Lord, but in a moment of trial he denied knowing Jesus. Before we are too hard on our Brother Peter we should examine ourselves. Do we live out in our faith the words of our mouth? It is easy to make great claims of faith; it is another thing to live those claims. If you have ever suffered disappointment or betrayal from someone you thought was faithful, then you too may ask--where can you find a faithful person? The answer is to be a faithful person yourself. Being faithful means you will have to make sacrifices, you will have to endure difficulties, you will have to persevere, you will have to be selfless. Isn’t that the call of a disciple? Jesus said, "will there be any faithful when I return?" We need to be able to answer, "Yes Lord, here I am".
