Mighty to Save

To He who is Might to save,
Willingly I become a slave,
I give my heart in surrender,
To a Savior so kind and tender,
None can compare to my Lord,
I worship Him in humble accord.
I give up my life in grateful acclaim,
I sing glory and praise to His holy name.
I have seen Him change lives amazingly,
I know first hand for His has saved me.

"Mighty to save." --Isaiah 63:1

He is “mighty to save,” what an Old World phrase. Today we say, “he’s the man.”
Whatever the era in the phase of the world, He is powerful enough to do the impossible. In His mighty power he not only saves but He transforms.

On any given Sunday I am more than proud to say that I am standing beside, in back of or in front of a changed life. There is a song that we sing in church with a line that says “and there’s angels all around”. I am reduced to goose flesh at the sound of those words, for I am a witness to their invincible truth. I have seen adulterers serving the community with joy, I have seen drug addicts reformed into loving fathers and caring husbands, I have seen gang- bangers newly molded into seekers of the word filled with passion and courage reaching out to other gang members at risk of life and limb. I have seen wayward parents become role models for their own children and friends of their children. I have seen teenagers steadfastly shunning the wyles of the world in favor of service to Him.

Oh, my friends He is mighty to save. He will turn your life upside down and you will never be the same again. You will leave your life of insecurity and walk a path with Him that will lead you to an incredible peace, one that passes all understanding.

Oh, come quickly, if you have not already. It is the best thing since sliced bread, in fact He is the bread. The bread of life, so come to His table and feast.
