Homecoming

There I stood at the gates of Heaven
Waiting patiently to enter
Along the streets a crowd grew steadily
Confused was I by what I saw

Slowly the gates swung open
The angels above sang
There I stood in amazement
As Jesus beckoned me to come

I fell on my knees before Him
Ready to worship my Lord
He knelt down and whispered to me
I love you, my child, welcome home

The angles and Children of God
Cheered as I entered the gates
The home God prepared for me
Dazzled with His love and grace

For in life I strove to honor my Lord
In all I did and said
Building up wealth in Heaven above
While serving Him here on earth

My belief and faith in Jesus Christ
Were my riches here on earth
Now I stand before my Lord
Wealthy beyond compare
