You gave us your music
We loved your beats
Your steps and gyrations
Were exciting to see.

We watched you grow
From a boy to a man
Often misunderstood
Hounded and shamed.

As with all strange things
That we don't understand
We took you apart
To get to your heart.

And when all was done
We stood in awe
As your spirit took flight
Free from this world.

You may never have known
You were truly loved
Not just here below
But by the Father above.

Shine on in silence
Shine on as you sleep
Rest until that day
Rest, Michael in peace.
