Throughout history the Good Lord has,
Provided for men to eat,
Food to provide them sustenance,
Their daily needs to meet.
In the desert, Manna fell from heaven
But many were not satisfied
They wanted all the things they missed
And many gave up, and cried.
In the gospels, Jesus did perform
Miracles to show God’s way.
Five leaves and fish were multiplied
To feed the crowds that day.
But many of them still turned away
Unconvinced, too blind to see,
That Jesus came to give us life,
He came to set to set them free.
Earthly food will not assuage
The hunger that we feel,
For the spiritual food He gives to us,
Is not like any meal.
“Come unto me,” the Good Lord said,
If you really want God’s Will.
Hunger and thirst for righteousness
For His love for you can fill.
The Good Lord bids you simply “Come”
To receive the bread of life,
For the food He gives, will set you free
from your pain and sin and strife.
So come to Jesus just as you are.
Reach out to receive His love.
And He’ll satisfy your endless quest
with precious gifts from above.

Blessed are those who hunger
and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
