As he did so, his eyes fell to the picture of Sarah. His beautiful eighteen-year-old daughter. Her smiling face stared back at his mournful one.
For years Glen and Connie had prayed for their daughter’s salvation, yet the stubborn girl had refused to listen.
She had been a good child, although she started to tune in to rebellion at an early age. Not caring what her parents thought, Sarah had taken her own way -out in the world. She started college, not at the college her father had advised, but one of her own choosing. She lived among a rowdy bunch, partying and having so-called fun.
Being a father, and having a daughter that was unsaved, haunted Glen. Yet there was little he could do but pray. His stubborn daughter just wouldn’t listen. And Glen knew that he would never be entirely satisfied until Sarah had joined the family of God.

Sarah flopped and turned in her bed. For once, she was alone in the apartment. Or so she thought.
What she didn’t know was that someone was with her in her apartment, there to minister to her.
A spirit.
A helper.
A giver of satisfaction.
Turning and twisting, Sarah just couldn’t get the last phone call from her father out of her mind. A phrase continued to haunt her:
“I’m fine living like I am, Daddy. I’m happy.”
“Honey, you’re not truly happy. Only Jesus can give you true happiness and satisfaction.”
...only Jesus can give you true happiness and satisfaction.
She closed her eyes and tried to block it out. Yet as hard as she tried, Sarah couldn’t get the phrase to leave.
...only Jesus can give you true happiness and satisfaction.
Finally she sat up in bed. Flicking on the brass lamp beside the bed, she thought a drink might help. Yet as she got out of bed, the phrase did not leave her alone.
...only Jesus can give you true happiness and satisfaction.
Finally, not being able to find comfort in the refrigerator, Sarah flopped down on the couch and began to weep bitterly. Even as she did so, the phrase continued to fly around her ears.
...only Jesus can give you true happiness and satisfaction.
Sarah tried to calm down, but the tears wouldn’t stop. She began to let the phrase’s meaning soak in.
...only Jesus can give you true happiness and satisfaction.
Still weeping, Sarah picked up the phone. She knew it was the middle of the night, but she didn’t care. She needed help. She needed satisfaction. She dialed her home phone number.
Ring... ring... ring... “Hullo?”
She was greeted by her daddy’s groggy voice.
“Hi Daddy.” As hard as she tried, Sarah couldn’t keep the tears from her voice.
“Hi Pumpkin. But for heaven’s sakes, it’s one forty-five in the morning.”
“I know Daddy. But if it’s not too much bother... could you tell me how I can become saved?”
