Put my tears into Your bottle;
Are they not in Your book?
Psalm 56:8
I was on a routine journey through Psalms when I found this verse. I was amazed all over again at how intimately God knows us. He not only wants us to be His, He wants us to feel comfortable coming to Him in the good times and the bad times. He wants us to pour out our hearts to Him, telling Him what hurts, and what we don’t understand. Some nights I just have to crawl up into Daddy’s lap and cry on His shoulder. How wonderful is it that we can do this? Our God is accessible to His children and deeply desires that communication. Our tears are precious to Him. I know this because He keeps them for us. He wouldn’t keep them if they did not hold some kind of special meaning to Him. Just the thought that God doesn’t just have a record of my tears, but that He still has them was enough to make me bow my head in awe. Somewhere in God’s Heavenly Cupboard there is a flask (bucket maybe) labeled “Jess’ Tears”. What love! God can handle my tears, my insecurity issues and all my fears. Over and over He reminds me of His love.
"Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with loving kindness, I have drawn you
