As I see the greatness and the splendor of God's richest gifts to our world, my brain remains calm. The lush towering trees, flowering plantets, water bubbling out of the earth and rushing over the mountains to feed the streams. Watch the mighty eagle, his head as white as a new fallen snow and his large wings guiding his dips and dives gracefully floating through the air. The deer with their young slowly creeping out into an open field to turn and wave their white tails at me from a distance. A groundhog standing up like an inspector to check out his surroundings before he waddles across the open field. A squirrel, jaws puffed, carrying an acorn across the way and burying it behind some rocks.
I inhale the freshness of the air and watch odd shaped white clouds float along in the azure sky as they intermingle with the others. Lying in the shade of the oak tree an ant visits and a bee buzzes around my nose. Occasionally, an acorn falls to the ground, leaves zip around in front of me like a kite and a mockingbird serenades me with a song. I lie here among the loveliness of His gifts, feel His presence, meditate upon His word, and give thanks unto Him for the many gifts He sent for His children to enjoy. I rid myself of the trangressions I collected along the way and ask for guidance and knowledge in His word and in all things I do. His gift of forgiveness and love seeps into the inner most part of my being and provides me a restful calming peace and the strength to face another tomorrow as I follow His word.
