He rubbed it on his shirt until it was so shinny it sparkled. He took one bite and saw deep with in was a brown spot.
“Grandma!” he called, “Come look at my apple, I think it is bad inside.”
Grandma took the apple and carefully cut it open, there inside was a tiny green worm.
“I didn’t know he was in there. How did he get there grandma, there are no holes in the outside of my apple?”
Grandma chuckled, “ Tommy I think your worm was the owner of that apple long before you.” “He was born inside.”
“You see his mother layed an egg on the blossom of the apple, her little fellow would have to have food when he hatched and began to grow.”
“But grandma there was no apple for him to eat , just a pretty flower.”
“ Yes Tommy I know but as the apple grew it grew around the baby egg then just as the worm hatched there was the nice jucy apple. It covered him up. He was safe and had everything he needed.”
“There is a lesson your worm can teach you Tommy,” grandma said as she hugged Tommy.
“Worms can’t talk grandma , how can they teach?”
“ Some of the best things we learn from God are in the beautiful pictures of life he draws for us.”
“ This one teaches us that God provides every thing we need but we should never take it for granite. Always remember God’s protection is there, even if we don’t recognise it .”
“Wow! Am I ever glad I didn’t take a big bite. That would have been the worst bite ever !”
“I think it would have been just as bad for the worm as it was for you!”
“Your apple worm will help you to be thankful .”
Just look around you and see what other life lessons you are missing.
“O K Grandma , I know one! Be careful what you bite into.”
