My PRECIOUS LORD folks, what are we teaching our tiny tots. Are we exposing them to so much violence that they search for a way to destroy another human life? I read further, another article in "Today's Educator" claimed that children are released into the classroom with the attitude of a territorial heathen.
Yesterday, I walked through a Target Department Store, on a shelf was a 4T T-shirt, the incription said: "I may be small, but I am the boss," Cute is it not? Unfortunately, we as parents have left the Christian values at home and allowed our children to run the show on a value system based on a 24 inch TV screen. We put our foot down when they wanted to go to an R rated movie, but we watched TV with them as the sexual perversion was broadcast into our homes...and that was just the commercials.
Five year olds swear like sailors, twelve year olds are getting pregnant, come on folks, isn't it time Christians had an influence in the classroom.
Especially, at the elementary school age, the clay is being molded. Minds are being formed. At school the teachers work with what they are presented. And what they are presented is a direct result of what was taught at home.
The Christian answer up until now has been to run...home school, Christian school, Private school - and there is nothing wrong with any of those, except we are ignoring the real problem. We have created a bandaid effect. Our Christian educated child will emerge into a world where the elementary child was an after thought, a world based on the ten rules of sex in the city, rather than a world based on the ten commandments.
It is your choice, good Christian family, sit and watch a generation of elementary school children progress outside of Christ, OR step and begin the process of creating a change. The Lord did not promise you ease in your work.
