FORBIDDEN DREAMS

You’re a vision looking cool in a summer breeze
I’d sell eternity to be by your side
You’re looking for winner
No matter if it’s a sinner
It’s just the boredom that you can’t abide

Holding onto my heart in the palm of your hand
And then you squeeze it ‘til I scream in the dark
It’s not that you can blame me
Nothing’s gonna shame me
Never giving up ‘til I find your mark

And you don’t know how many nights
That I tossed and thrashed and turned
To be parted from your sight
To be alone again at night
And you don’t know how many times
That I die when I get spurned,
To never see it in your eye,
No matter what it is I try.

Even if I’m next to you I’m miles away
Even if I talk to you it’s not what I say
Even if I’m kissing you it’s a game that you play
Even if I’m holding you I’m not gonna stay

I know there’s not a “we”
Give me this fantasy
I’m dying to be free,
Help me! Help me!

In Forbidden Dreams there’s a future before us
And it’s clawing at my sanity
In Forbidden Dreams nothing stands between us
But it can’t become reality

In Forbidden Dreams there’s a future before us
And it’s gnawing at my sanity
In Forbidden Dreams nothing stands between us
But it can’t become reality
But it can’t be our reality

You’re holding me for ransom but you don’t name the price
I’ve sold my soul and there’s nothing to pawn
You’ve got me on a spit
And it hurts just a bit
But isn’t that what really turns me on?

You’re playing it so cool with the stakes really high
Can’t you see it that I’m crumbling inside?
Not that you would care
It’s just a Truth or a Dare
And I’m foolish not to just run and hide

And you don’t know what I would give
To make Forbidden Dreams come true
To be holding you right now
Never mind the where, the how
And you don’t know how many deaths
I would endure for only you
For just one moment of life
And to shake off all this strife

Even if it’s suicide don’t let me know
Even if it’s lie I’m gonna let it grow
Even if it’s killing me I won’t let it show
Even if you’ve deserted me I won’t let you go

I know there’s not a “we”
Give me this fantasy
I’m dying to be free,
Help me! Help me!

In Forbidden Dreams there’s a future before us
And it’s clawing at my sanity
In Forbidden Dreams nothing stands between us
But it can’t become reality

In Forbidden Dreams there’s a future before us
And it’s gnawing at my sanity
In Forbidden Dreams nothing stands between us
But it can’t become reality
But it can’t be our reality

The dreams we dream sometimes become a reality, even though reality differs from the dream. Have a wonderful Xmas and a Happy New Year. Phyllis.

There are some terrific lines here that evoke gut wrenching feelings. Not knowing you, or recognizing the voice in such pain,I am still impressed with the raw emotion. Touching, like a saber through blue flame and right to the heart of the matter! May have to read this one again... ~LG~
