So tear can be define as a drop of liquid substance that comes out of the eye when crying.Tears may be said to occure due to the sudden break down of the human emotion.Or the point at which the body could no longer hold the emotional feelings, either of ones body or for somebody. This is most of the time cause of by the positive or negative event that occurs.Tears can come in two dimentions which also are it factors.*The Joy dimention, and the bitter dimention.Tears can be derive from either of these two factors. In different occassions, these factors has contribute
greatly to the cause of tears. The life of Esau in the bible is a typical example of tears in bitterness. After Jacob his twin brother has succesfully robbed him of his rightful blessing from their father Isaac. The bible said Esau cried a great cry.Gen.27;34"And when Esau heard the words of his father,he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry,and said unto his father, bless me even me also,O my father."
The reconcilation of the two brothers is a good example of tears in the Joy dimention. The brothers Jacob and Esau met in peniel after several years of seperation, but they both reconcil in Joy despict their bitter departure.Gen.33;4"And Esau ran to meet him and embraced him,and fell on his neck, and kissed him and they wept".The two brothers both wept for Joy.
At this junction,i will like to make it so clear to my readers that weeping is as well as sheding tears.Weeping is the action, while sheding of tears is the reaction.Because the liquid that comes out of the eye is the symbol of the physical weeping. And as we all know that it is the symbol that testify of the activites happening in the body, spirit, and soul.so weeping is not varies from tears.
Another example of the Joy dimention of tears is the biblical story of Jacob and his son Joseph. The bible discribe Joseph as the son of Jacob`s old age and so he loved him so much that he sowed for a coat of many colours.Joseph has being a source of joy to Jacob, not untill his elder brothers sold him into slavery.Gen.37;34-35"And Jacob rent his clothes and put sack cloth upon his loins, and mourned his son for many days. And all his sons and daughters comfort him,but he refused to be comforted;and he said for i will go down to the grave unto my son mourning. This his father wept for him".Jacob had for long shed bitter tears for his presumed dead son. This initially tune to Joy after he find back his beloved son alive in the land of Egypt.Gen.48;29"And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Isreal his father in Goshen to present himself unto him and he fell on his neck;and wept on his neck a good while".Finally, tears is use to bring an end to a suituation either good or bad, that is when something good happens the partaker of such may weep for Joy and if at the other side ,bad event, the partaker may also weep for bitterness. This is showed in the life of David the king of Isreal after he had lost his son Absalom to the war in the hand of the captain of his army Joab.David shed bitter tears.2samuel 18;33"And the king was much moved and went up to the chamber over the gate and wept;and as he wept, thus he said my son Absalom,my son,my son Absalom! would God i had died for thee.O Absalom,my son,my son. This kind of cry is what most of us witness or practise in the lost of ones relative or love ones. This cry shows the finality of the dessise that means the contact between someone and the person is eventually no more so we shed tears for this.
The psalmist says weeping may endure for the night but Joy comes in the moring".This is another kind of cry, though it may be shed in a bitter atmosphere but the end reasult is Joy,It is this type that is called tears of assurance. Our lord Jesus Christ exercise this kind of cry in the tomb of Lazarus.John 11;35"Jesus wept".Jesus know quite well that, though lazarus is dead but still yet he shall be raise back to life.
