This made me think about this weeks topic. Acceptance. But what is acceptance? The dictionary states that it means to be approved or being favored. Knowing this, we can now see that its everywhere.Television, radio, magazines, etc. They all display images or talk about what a person has to look like. Some businesses are the same way. There are some that wont allow you to work there because you were a minority, or you cant be served because of you not being a certain color. But because we arent a certain way, we often get ridiculed or even shunned. So by this many people go out to change their looks or they get depressed.
A fine example of acceptance is through the story of Peter. Peter probably didnt accept the fact that Jews werent the only one that God wanted to be saved. This was mainly because of the Jewish law saying that Jews couldnt associte with the gentiles. But one day God gave Him a vision regarding not only Jews but the gentiles as well. He said basically that He was to go out and preach to the Gentiles as well. Peter couldnt accept this at first, but God told him that He called Him to go to preach to them. That was the same day that God spoke to Cornelius about getting saved. Peter realized that God accepts all man, whether Jew, Gentile, etc.
In this scripture it teaches us that God is no respecter of persons. It doesnt matter, if you are black or white, or native american, if you are skinny or tall. God loves you no matter what. So despite the fact of what people say, always remember that you are always accepted by God.
