How often do I trust myself
more than You
I tend to reach out for my resources
than that are provided by You
How easily
for me to fall back on my strength
and my ability
instead of seeking the wisdom and strength
from above
It’s so difficult
to have faith in things unseen
to have hope
when the situation seems so bleak
to doubt and despair is my instinct
How can I have more faith in You
trust You more in such situations
But I remember what You say—
through the ancient prophet
Jeremiah
Don’t be afraid for I’m with you
Be not despair for I’m your God
I’ll strengthen you
I’ll help you
I’ll lift you up with my righteous right
Again You echo these words
through Hebrews
Never will I leave you
never will I forsake you
Help me- to overcome my weakness
It’s so counterintuitive
to trust in You alone
and not to rely on my wisdom
May I realise I need not suffer alone
though I can’t avoid all problems
