Fill your lungs with the joy of it
Hold your breath and feel your dreams beating with your heart
Don’t count them, they rival the stars
Hold fast to golden moments
Plunge your hands into some cold running brook
Catch your hopes like diamonds in the water
Hold them up and memorize them
Don’t count hopes, they come from stars
Hold fast to sparkling visions
Walk along the shore of some mighty ocean
Shout your passions above the roar of the sea
Taste their power as waves crash against the rocks
Don’t count them, they burn like stars
Hold fast to deep convictions
When the journey overtakes your future
And you are perplexed, persecuted, abandoned
The cares of this world press hard
Don’t count cares, they dim the stars
Hold fast to long fought faith
Kneel down in some fragrant field of flowers
Cast all your cares on Him
Listen as He illustrates His hopes, dreams, passions
(Do count them, star by star)
Hold fast and live now like you did then.
