ADD TO MY FAVORITES
Like vampires of the night,
So I played my cards and stole your wealth
To aid me in my flight—
With lust I spent your greatest treasures
To buy my darkest pleasures.
But in the midst of all my parties
I saw you standing near,
And knew I was not far enough,
For you could reach me here.
So next I sought a deeper gloom,
To lead me to my doom.
I went from parties into drugs,
Which seemed to be in style,
A way to manufacture joy
And simulate a smile.
But all the promises were drained
And left the dregs of pain—
I cursed my father in my shame,
Yet still you called my name.
When all my treasures had been spent
I found myself in hell—
Where horrors of the night bring pain
No tales could ever tell.
At last I knew the life that’s lead
By the living who are dead.
Yet even darkest nights are pierced
By arrows from the stars—
I thought you could not reach in hell
But you reveal your scars.
The prodigal comes home at last!
Not by what I am,
But only ’cause you’d rather die
Than let my soul be damned.

The feeling of one being lost in sin and living in our world is real, alive and true.
The good news? God is faithful no matter the darkness one may experience.
Thank you. And, God bless you.
Nicely done. God Bless~

Great Writing!!
