Topic: Life (06/15/06)
On October 4th 2005, two lives came into being, completely turning the lives of their expectant parents inside out and upside down. Nine years of disappointment, followed by ten months of anticipation culminated in one perfect evening when a doctor who had become a friend, smilingly handed two small bundles over to a pair of the most deserving parents I will ever meet.

To the twins of my heart:

Two eggs, imperfectly formed,
Growth halted for a season,
Now moving in a new rhythm to
The beat of my heart.

Growing, living, moving inside
Hope flickers in your parent’s eyes
Two eggs, two people
A boy and a girl.

Two tiny infants, expansive souls,
Guided by the hand
Of the Creator.
Your lives are a symbol
Of love realized.

Precious. Divine. Profound.
Blessed are we who have the privilege
Of witnessing your days,
For surely, your innocence and purity
Are affirmations of God’s Life and goodness.

Sweet wonders, may your days be
Graced with peace and may your lives be
Forever filled with joy.

Magnificent ... just beautiful ... doubly blessed indeed. I have a good idea of this author might be, and if I'm right, the story behind the story makes the story even more beautiful. If I'm wrong, the story I'm imagining makes your story all the more beautiful too!

Lovely poem, guided by the hand of the Creator. So you are triply blessed. Just think how beautiful your twins will feel when they're old enough to read this poem about how much treasure them.

A beautiful tribute to what seems to be nothing short of a miracle. Then again, every new life is a miracle, but even more cherished, I think, in this situation. Very well-written and touching! God bless!
