I know, you probably think I'm nagging. Call it reminding you, inviting you, telling you I will always wait for you, never give up on you. I love you.
I see how fast you're running to get everything done, to accumulate the things you think you must have in life, to make the right moves to advance your career. But I also see your need to make sense of it all. There is a way. (I know what you're thinking. "Here He goes again.") Indulge me. Try it, even if just for a moment at first.
Be still, and know that I am God.
I see how confused you are by the all possibilities, the constant choices you must make. I see how rattled you become when overwhelmed by uncertainty. Wisdom will come only through prayer. Come to me in prayer. I do listen. There are so many things I want you to understand. I will teach you in the silence of your heart in our time together.
Be still, and know.
I see the pace of the world you live in. I understand how hard it is. Never a moment to stop, chill, relax, breathe. "Pray?" you ask. "I do that while in motion." That's good. I do invite you to pray always, but here's the thing. How would your spouse or child feel if you spoke to them only on the fly? I desire a moment with you. A quiet one. Just the two of us. Can you arrange that?
Be still.
I know the world keeps telling you that what you are is more important than who you are, a child of God, my child. Do you understand--will you ever--that I will always treasure who you are more than what you might become in this world? Do you understand--will you ever--that I love you just the way you are? May I suggest that you cease your doing and striving, quiet your rattling, prattling mind, calm your need to have and do more, and--just for a moment--simply be.
Be.
I'm here. For you.
Be still, and know that I am God.
Love,
God
