If I've heard this comment once, I've heard it one thousand and two times. I'm a bit of a slow learner. At least that's what my teachers say. I forget the code for my cell phone at least once a day. I forget that ice cream cones should not be eaten from the bottom. I even forget to look both ways before crossing the street, although lucky for me the cars do look before crossing me.
But I'm not stupid. My mom used to say that God gave me all of my brains in my brain, but it has a hard time getting out. I'm still not sure what she was talking about, but I believe her. I am smart. I got almost all straight A's in school. Well, at least in woodworking class.
I am always the last one to get the jokes, but at least the joke is about me. I remember one day I was walking down the hall and I heard somebody say, "Did you hear the one about the guy who stared at the traffic sign all day? Yeah, Mark thought it was about him. It said, S-L-O-W."
I'm glad they know my name. I have lots of friends that know me. They come up to me every day and give me high-fives. Sometimes, they miss my hands and hit my head, but I'm just glad that they see me.
One day I'm going to be rich and famous. That's what my Mom says. She tells me that I can even be president of the United States. I'm not sure I want to tell that many people what to do, but I sure would like to live in a white house. I would invite everyone to a party and we would listen to Frank Sinatra. I like Frank. He knew about saying something stupid. But I don't know why he couldn't tell the girl he liked that he loved her. I tried that once, and she slapped me in the face, and called me a moron.
I am going to graduate next year and then everyone will know what I can do. I don't think I can go to college, but I bet I can get a job at the hardware store. I love to build things. I made a birdhouse for my mom and she was so happy. I told someone in my class, but they called me a nerd without brains.
One day I'll show everyone that I'm not stupid.
Right now I wish I had a friend who believed me.

I have real low tolerance for those that take advantage and make fun of others.
The proud, the arrogant, and the brutish bullies only make the simple, humble and lowly shine that much more.
Thank you for writing this very heartwarming example of what Christianity embraces, a gentle spirit that and simple Godly mind. God bless.
