Rocks are cleared easily from my land with dynamite. The most beautiful trees dot the landscape on my farm by the lake. If I need to clear land for the next project saws and axes are provided for the job.
My main role is management, and that takes a bit of doing, I can tell you. I have plots of land for growing the crops, which are then placed in the barn ready for use. I co-ordinate deliveries to the dairy where cream and cheese are produced, to the grain mill which makes feed for my pigs, cows and chickens, to the barbecue which churns out pancakes and bacon and eggs with ease. I feed sugar cane into the sugar factory and hey presto - out come the bags of brown or white sugar. I have a popcorn machine, a bakery, and today I planted six apple trees.
It is also my task to feed the stock. I get the feed from the barn and take it to the animals. If they are hungry they are quick to let me know! It takes time, but the rewards come when I gather the eggs, bring in the milk, and store the bacon.
If I must leave my farm for a short while, my crops keep growing and my stock and machinery keep producing. When I return so many things are ready for attention, I don’t know which to deal with first.
Sometimes I cannot keep up. If I sell too much of my produce I don’t have enough left for growing for my own crops. Ah, there is a solution; I can buy from my neighbours. When I get frantic in the cycle of growing, producing, feeding, gathering and growing again, and the need to increase barn capacity, instead of getting anxious and frustrated I need to slow down and realise it is all right, there is an answer.
Because there is help! I can visit my neighbours and learn from them, and I have an assistant who will run errands for me and find me the things I need.
When I visit the farms of my friends I get a glimpse of further delights which will be mine when I climb the ladder a bit further. I see beehives and bicycles, cats, dogs, sheep and horses, many more fruit trees, picnic tables and more.
“I will warn you,” said my ten-year-old grandson as he helped me load my farm game onto my tablet, “this is very addictive.” How right he was! Already it has consumed more of my time than I care to admit, and I’ve only had the thing six days.
Of course it is all a dream, a fantasy. This computer game is nothing like real life where the rain is needed to make the crops grow, where we have to wait for the cycle of life through the seasons, where not all the chickens lay, or all the cows give milk.
But there are some parallels to real life, and maybe I can even squeeze a spiritual lesson out of it all - something to justify the time I am spending.
I see how easy it is to live in a fantasy world and get caught up in something quite useless. I also see lessons on reward for hard work and organization to achieve anything useful. I see cause and effect, if I neglect my animals, they produce nothing.
I see the importance of friends. By visiting those who have been in the game longer I can learn things I need to know. I can have fun spending time with my grandson as he teaches me and we exchange things we need.
I thank God I have the ability to work for his kingdom and tend to his world and his flock. I learn from others who have been in his family longer than I have and am sometimes privileged to glimpse what lies ahead. I can encourage those behind me.
I must be able to find some justification, but excuse me for a moment, my chickens need feeding.

KJV 1 Timothy 3:16
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."
God bless~
While I never got hooked on that particular game, I definitely have gotten hooked on others, and I appreciate your message.
