Caught up in the cares of the world, overwhelmed by life,
Hard-working from early in the morning until late at night.
Insanity reigns while the business storms swirl, enraged.
Losers are left behind! I need to stay focused and engaged.
Leaping on every opportunity, driving with no real purpose;
Annoyed with everyone around you as you reject their service.
Xeroxing everything to cover your tracks-constantly worried;

Always slaving in fast-forward mode, overworked and hurried.
Looking at the doctor incredulously as she conveys the bad news:
Rocking your world as your mind races, What am I going to do?
Ending your busy madness and replacing it with another flavor:
Afflicted with one of the worst things in the world: I have cancer.
Determined now to listen to your friend from the "crazy" church:
You better chill out already and get right with God: lesson learned.

This is so intense and gripping. Cancer horrifies.

You capture well the rat race and how so many of us focus on the wrong things. My sister recently became very ill from some kind of infection causing paralysis and degeneration of her internal organs - not cancer but horrifying nonetheless. I just wrote her a brief letter this morning in the hope that she listens to her crazy brother who preaches the love of Christ and getting right with God.
