Topic: Day's End (01/01/14)
"And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." Revelation 19:6-7 (NKJV/New King James Version)


January is a month to examine ourselves and assess where we are spiritually, and then look ahead to the new year God has provided for us. We can get caught up in making silly resolutions, promising ourselves how we will change: "This year, things will be different."

Then, a month later, everything goes back to the way it was.

Seriously, ask yourself one question every day this year: Am I ready for the Day of the Lord?

Watch and pray, minute-by-minute. When you make a mistake, repent. With every step, you are getting ready. At day’s end, thank God for helping you draw closer to Him.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." (see Matthew 25:21)

Oh, to hear those words on that day!

Father, I pray that I come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm me to the end, that I may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

This is very concise and well-written.

Since it was quite short, you'd have room to include something with a more personal touch: perhaps an example of a specific time when you've put that into practice, or failed to do so.
