“It will make you wise”, the great deceiver charmed.
“Where are you Adam?!” The Almighty exclaimed.
“That woman, she made me…” red-faced Adam blamed.
Flushed with embarrassment, new life had begun.
Adam burned red toiling under a hot sun.
Abel’s blood sacrifice was rightly received.
But Cain’s evil heart had surely been deceived.
“Am I my brother’s keeper?” angry Cain frowned.
God wept, “Abel’s blood cries to me from the ground.”
God placed a blazing mark upon Cain’s forehead.
The crimson blot gave God’s safety as he fled.
God’s plan for man must come through the darkest red.
“Your scarlet sins will be white as snow,” He said.
“As often as you drink of this cup,” Christ stated.
Ruby wine disclosed the ransom stipulated.
Through great drops of blood, the Son of God pleaded.
“Not my will but Thine,” was what He acceded.
Wounds for our sins, bruises for iniquities.
His life flowing red paid all men’s penalties.
Early she arrived, morning sky turning red.
“Do not seek the Living among the dead”!
Red dragon vanquished, condemned to lower realms.
Our Savior lives, crowned with all manner of gems.
Seeing His glorious face in God’s pure light,
Red will become dazzling to our great delight!
