Miss Ping’s role was reversed.
As her students conversed,
She expected the worst.
Miss Ping posed a question:
"The meaning of mature?"
Eyebrows arched. Innocent, demure.
Answered in overture.
Wendy waved her hand:
"Is mature when I grow
And know everything to know,
But have to move real slowww?"
Sammy squirmed in his seat:
"Is mature getting old,
Gaining big belly folds,
Growing weird hairy molds?"
“Moles,” Carol corrected,
"I know mature is wise,
Learning how to criticize
Even if her child tries."
Priscilla piped in too:
"Mature voices sound loud.
They say, 'Please make me proud;
Never follow the crowd.'”
Molly mumbled next:
"Mature girls wear make-up
That they need to help wake-up,
Give chores like: 'Go rake-up.'”
Ryan raised his hand high:
"Mature often complain,
After toasting champagne,
They’re attacked by migraines."
Ben blurt out his answer:
"Mature spend nights snoring
Because work is so boring;
No time for exploring."
This word they defined
"Came from adults they know
From behavior they show
That they’ll some day borrow."
Miss Ping sat and pondered
Her learned definition:
"Mature comes with submission
To our God who’s omniscient."

I loved that part. Very good and fun poem. Well done.
May God bless and keep you writing always.
