I seek Thy dear face at dawns first light
Again, sleep escaped my bed in the night.
In humble worship I bow my knee to Thee
Still my heart, O Dear God, I must plea!
I’m tried in the furnace of circumstance,
Awaiting Thy mercies and deliverance.
Arise O Lord, wilst Thou deliver me?
What is my life……but to honor Thee?
How long O Lord wilt Thou forget?
Have Thou not received the prayers I sent?
Thy voice is silent, Thy Spirit is still…..
While I thirst and hunger to do Thy will.
Mine enemies flourish at my expense!
Thy goodness and mercy, please recompense.
For rivers of tears I’ve cried all in vain…..
O Lord wilt Thou not remove this pain?
My darkness is heavy, my sorrow consumes.
My soul is weary, while suffering looms.
Mine enemy waits….for my slow demise,
He taunts in mine ear to “compromise.”
How long O Lord wilt Thou forget?
As a consuming fire Thy wrath has beset!
Thy glory is hidden in my hard distress….
I plead with Thee O Lord for Thy tenderness.
For I am alone, no friendship I may trust.
Send me to the grave - return me to the dust.
For death would be more than a sweet relief….
This bitterness of breath is sorrow and grief.
Search my soul O Lord for sin and shame,
If there be unrighteousness, please proclaim.
Even through suffering Thy glory I declare
Thy tender mercies – none other can compare….
How long O Lord wilt Thou forget?
Bring comfort to Thy servant without regret.
Thou alone O Lord, art my hiding place of old
My shelter and strength from the barren cold
Thou spoke into existence the earth and sea,
Thy heavens declare the majesty of Thee.
If stars could speak, Thy name they would praise!
Thy sun and moon shine Thy light in their rays..
My Redeemer lives – Thy name is forevermore!
Of evil and wickedness Thou hand doth abhor.
Who can speak in thunder and calm the storm,
Thou art the Almighty – Thy wonders to perform!
How long shall I wait for Thy crown and Thy robe?
Lord until that day, teach me…….the patience of Job.

I wonder if a little bit of work on meter might make it flow more smoothly.
Beautiful message, and a very nice poem.
