A form for me that’s not the norm
Words used here to introduce
The reader I may soon seduce
To believe that in this introduction I
Did not waste words to qualify
If I could, this introduction, I’d recall it
Alas, behold my intended sonnet
The Bridge to Nowhere Certain
Tempt me not subconscious thought not ought
For freedom released thee as helper
Architect, engineer, harlot’s cot
Sweet callings for me to lay with her
For trees of Eden to build her planks
While olive trees am I beloved
Weeds sprout imagined that I give thanks
A trunk begot, chopped down and shoveled
And planks building to our final ends
Man redeemed perfect Eden restored
And in this way we shall make amends
For all His covenants we’ve whored
But I shall not walk the bridge of man
Instead, sojourn I, valleys thy ban
