I found it by writing. I’m holding on to it with a strong grip by writing. I found personal peace by writing. Even though I was unaware, God gave me a talent to inspire others with words of comfort, cheer and introspection. Looking back there is evidence of it from childhood. The acknowledgement and joy of this talent is fresh and new.
Revelation came while searching for emotional and spiritual balance. I heard my grandmother’s voice and wrote her words. I heard my inner voice and I wrote those words. I wrote words only God could have given me. I was comforted by all of them. I survived and continue to survive hurtful situations because of those words.
I believe in order to write, you have to stop and think. As ordinary as this sounds, if you think about it there is power in this process . Writing forces you to stop talking about life just long enough to find out where you fit and how your actions compare with all those spoken words. You find truth. Truth then leads to self-forgiveness and/or self-improvement. Peace.
