“I know.” beamed Sheila. “It's a Gucci design and I just purchased it from the mall!!
I love it…in fact, I adore it!
God gave some people the ability to create beautiful dresses!”
Two streets away, in a humble two-bedroom cottage, baby Brandon lay in his cot. He was fast asleep and his tired parents beamed down at his sleeping body.
“God has blessed us. We prayed for years and He has answered !” said Tim joyfully.
“Oh, I love you, Brandon. You are so adorable! Yes..we love you God!” Tammy said gleefully.
On an island across the ocean, swaying palms waved their branches against bright blue cloudless skies.
“Oh, the beautiful Carribean! I love the green mountains, sloping hills, and its white sand beaches. Look!! There are fruit trees in abundance; bananas, guavas, plums, coconut, and cinnamon trees everywhere I look! I love it! Yes, I adore this place” said a visiting admirer.
“T’was created by God and loved by mankind!”
In the center of a town, of a foreign land, stood a large concrete image.
Dozens, sometimes hundreds of people bowed and chanted phrases to it daily.
“It's nothing but stone. It's not real, yet they adore it?!” whispered Jane, a visiting observer.
She felt sorrow for a people so deluded as they adored and prayed to an image of stone.
It was created by human hands and was not worthy of adoration.
In a little village of Bethlehem, thousands of years ago, imagine how Mary felt.
As a virgin, she had given birth to, nursed, and was now cuddling her baby boy, named Jesus.
She was holding God’s son in her arms!!
Joseph stood at her shoulder, we imagine, with tears in his eyes. He was humbled and happy to be part of this awesome, phenomenal, miraculous event. Accepting what the angels had told him changed his life. He chose to provide a stable and respectable home for the child Jesus and His mother; thus he demonstrated his adoration. {Matthew 1:18-21}.
Jesus, perfect Son of God, ‘one with The Father and therefore, worthy of all our adoration. {John 17:11}.
Jane ran up the steep steps and into the open door of the cathedral.
“No concrete images here. It's a wooden cross!” she said smilingly and with gratitude.
Joy flowed from her heart and soul as worship flowed from lips..
“He is God and I adore HIM” she praised and worshipped in song.
The Hallelujah Chorus rang out loudly and its beautiful notes, chords, and lyrics made her weep with joy and thanks to the Holy Spirit.
“Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!”
Then followed the Christmas carol; ‘Oh come let us adore HIM, Christ The Lord’.
We adore you, Lord because You left heaven and came to us as a baby.
You grew into a human sinless man, did many many miracles, and showed pure love to all.
You were then accused, tortured, and cruelly killed to give us the free gift of salvation.
Today, believers are part of the household of God; and adopted as sons of God.
{Romans 8:15, Ephesians 2:19}.
Nothing compares to you Lord; not a beautiful dress, or a tropical paradise, or a loved and wanted child, or a concrete image can!
